Saturday was the Calhoun County Airport's annual Fly-In. They had free plane rides for kids 8-17. We weren't able to go last year, so the kids were really looking forward to this day! Tamara had never been in an airplane and Danny was only 2 when he was last in one!
The 3 kids and their pilot....they had the first flight of the day!
The pilot took time to tell them a little about the operation of the plane.
Ready to go.....
Danny was absolutely thrilled that the pilot let him "steer" the plane for awhile....and the pilot (I really wish I remembered his name) so kindly took pictures of them.
Tamara enjoyed it, too!
Danny took this picture....the farm in the middle is just down the road from us....we are just west of it (our house would be right off the left edge of the picture. Sadly he wasn't able to get our house on since the wing was in the way. It's still cool to see the lay of the land from the air!
Since I sent my camera along on the plane, I wasn't able to get pictures of them taking off or landing.
So here's another plane coming in from its trip.
And one in the air.....
They also had antique cars there. I would LOVE to cruise around in one like this on a sunny Fall day!! :)
An old Ahooga horn...love 'em!
The underside of this truck's hood was a mirror....very sharp!!
And one more old car I liked....
Interior....
Dan had an old Ford Falcon when we were dating, but it had it share of problems. Maybe one day we can own an old antique car again! :)
That's cool that y'all were first! We were last! ;D
