FSU Game

Our good friend and fellow prison chaplain, Billy Farran, invited our family to the opening FSU game on Saturday! They played Louisianna-Monroe.
It was a 3:30 game and a hot day. Because of TS Lee, we did have a nice on/off breeze! :)

Dan, Allison (Billy's grandaughter), Billy, Tamara and Danny.

We got there in plenty of time, so we walked the grounds and played some games.
Danny tried his hand at fast pitch....

Billy and Allison throwing bean bags~

and Dan and Danny send 'em back....

Osceola and Renegade planting the flaming spear.

Game time~

Billy arranged for us to have our picture taken with Renegade and Osceola!! :)

Check out the garnet and gold fans....and that one couple about halfway down, near the left, wearing white...well, we happen to know them!! :) Hi Dan & Marilyn....from across the stands! :) :)

Kick off!!

The final score was 34-0 Seminoles!! :)

Billy treated us to supper at Olive Garden after the game. Mmmmm!

And then we stopped at Krispy Kreme and watched them make fresh, hot doughnuts....and were gifted a dozen to take home as well as a few to eat fresh right there!!

What a fun, family day! Thanks Billy!! :)

This is our family 5 years ago.....August 2006.
I am so blessed to have 2 healthy, growing kids and a wonderful husband who loves me!!

I wanted to share this on facebook, but it says there is a problem with the image file....might have to try again tomorrow!

I am enjoying looking back at old pics I thought were lost forever when our computer crashed. I am so thankful for the computer savy guys who were able to save these!! :)
Today was our 5th day of school for the year! :) The children are really enjoying getting back into our My Father's World curriculum and it seems they don't even mind the Math at this point! :) They also LOVE their new spelling books. Not quite as excited about doing more writing....but our evaluator strongly encouraged it and I see it's worth!! :) Tamara loves to write on her own free will, not being forced to. Hoping this will help her enjoy it even more!!

Tonight I mowed the yard. It was starting to look like a regular field out there! I don't like that I saw a snake go slithering under the tomato plants....especially since I couldn't tell what kind it was! :P I was ready to come and stay in the house!!

Our pool is looking quite green. Poor hubby is overwhelmed with busyness right now and doesn't have time to take care of it....and I am not quite sure HOW to take care of it, so it is icky.....maybe the kids and I can conquer it tomorrow!??

I have a BIG prayer request.
Dan's boss got word that there is only 160 hours of money left for his position. No one in the "higher up" office seems to know anything about this, so we are praying it was a fluke in the system. If it was not, this means that our life is going to change!
Where this may take us and what this will involve, we don't know....but we are doing some investigating and offering lots of prayers for wisdom to know what the next step may be for our family.
Uncertain times always cause me to worry.....and I know that is wrong. I keep reminding myself tonight to leave this in God's hands....they are much, much more capable than my feeble thought processes or anything I attempt to do!
Pray with us, will you?

Parties~

Last weekend was a weekend of parties!!
Thursday night we were invited to Eric & Yolie's along with 4 other families to celebrate Ian's 5th birthday! :) Seems he was just a newborn!
He requested a cake that looked like a city, with Ironman on top of the one building! :) And that is what his mother and sister created!! Talented ladies, they are!

Friday night we had a Farewell party for two young guys who were working as summer interns at Gulf CI. They have been a blessing in the prison and I know God has big plans for them both!

Getting ready to start a rousing game of Taboo! :)

And then, Tie One On! :)

Lots of fun and noise!! :) Oh, and good food!!

Saturday afternoon we had a Bridal Shower for Allison. She just moved back from VA for the few weeks before her wedding. It was so good to see her smiling face again!!

And that was our weekend!! :)

Today we started History/Science/Bible along with Math and Spelling. We are studying Rome to the Reformation and it's been an interesting first day, already! The kids love My Father's World and I think I discovered that if we do that first, they don't mind doing Math so much! ;)

Have a good night~

Miracle Gro in His Shoes??

I noticed today that there is a bigger gap between Danny and Tamara's height. They were really close just a month ago.....so we brought out the measuring tape and made new marks on their bedroom doors!

Danny has grown 1/2" since the 13th of this month!!!! :O That was only 17 days ago!!

He grew 1 1/4" since March and Tamara grew 3/4" since March!!

I knew something was happening! :) Danny is quite excited about the fact that he will be caught up to me in height in just 6 more inches!! I wonder how tall he will be till his 13th birthday, which is 4 months away yet.

How tall were your kids or siblings at 13?

VBS 2011

Another week of VBS is history! It was such a good week! Our average attendance of kids was around 50. We had some new faces and then a few that have been coming year after year!
It was a hot week, but everyone still had fun!

Registration~

Dan and I were the assembly leaders. We got to do some fun lesson illustrations! :)

Dan wanted to be different, but I told him that God already made him unique....he didn't have to wear a plunger on his head to be unique!! :)

Glennys and Jim making sure the class attendance charts match up the first night! :) I loved seeing the older folks involved!!

The double rainbow was just lovely!! One little girl out back at the playground heard some of us talking about it and she said, "And guess what? There's one out front too!!" :) She didn't realize it was the same one!! :)

Our total offering.....we raised over $1,000!! :) That will go a long way in Haiti! I am so proud of the kids. Many brought their entire piggy banks. Tamara got tears in her eyes when I told her how much we raised! I am so glad to see kids in this generation caring about others!!
