A Little Of This and That.....Blogger Blunderings??

Life has been a blur the last month or two. I have so many idea's of things to blog about....so many things happening in our lives...so many area's I am working on. BUT, every time I sit down to blog, my mind goes blank!! :( I used to keep after my Xanga so diligently....then facebook came along and I started slacking off. THEN I thought Blogger was kind of cool. Just liked the whole layout better (except for putting pics on)So I am trying to decide if I should do all my posting on blogger and just link it to Xanga and facebook? Hmmmm...... Maybe I need to get off facebook?? NAH!! :D

My guys....watching a Nascar race online....

I just went to a coupon-ing workshop on Saturday and am excited about the possibility of saving money on our groceries....BUT there are so many blogs, websites, etc. that I could spend hours figuring deals out! I'd love it if you would leave a comment and tell me what your top one or two coupon-ing blogs/websites are!! :)

Tamara reading a library book....probably one of the Narnia ones! :)

TODAY it is 5 years since we moved to FL. I was going to post some pics of the kids from then, but they are all on my old computer which we can't get started. Someday soon I need to take it to the computer repair shop and see if they can find and fix the problem....all I really want are my PICTURES!!!! :O
Anyway, it's been a wonderful 5 years. I did think though, that after 2 years we'd be moving back to PA since we agreed to a 2 year term as Missionary Chaplain. BUT God did not call us back and here we are!! :)

I started back on my low-carb diet again and lost 7 lbs. since Monday! :) :) :) With having PCOS, low carbs is supposed to become a way of life for me. I'm not sure how that will happen. It is quite challenging!!
I am very excited that my sister Joanne and her family are coming to visit the middle of August. They haven't been down here to FL since we moved, so it will be fun to introduce them to this part of the south! :) Then the next weekend we are planning to head up to PA!! :) We haven't been up their since April '09, so I am READY!! :) My whole family is going to be together....so that means about 20 of us staying at Mom and Dad's house....should be a party! And of course the rest of the local family will come by as often as possible!! :) Our family now totals 57...including Gina's soon to be born son! :) Or should I say 58 including the child that Tina is carrying!? :) So it will be a crowd....a crowd of fun!! :)

I could go on and on with many subjects (some heart issues, fun, fun), but I think I will keep it short tonight. Maybe I will just forget the things in the past that I wanted to blog about and start fresh with whatever comes to mind this week....or the weeks to come! Maybe I just need to shut my bedroom door and ask for peace and quiet when I am ready to blog, so my thoughts can flow freely without interruption?

Cheap entertainment....fireworks 75% off! :) Actually these were colored smoke bombs!

Our evil dog looks on.... :D
He actually would go after these fire fizzling balls after they were lit and he got one in his mouth. I think he learned his lesson! But he still thought he needed to pounce near them! :)

Happy last week of July 2010 to you!! :)

Wild Olives Tees

Notice my new sidebar button?? :) I am entering to win product from WildOliveTees!! You can too...check them out here.

A quote from their "About Us" section:

We are a collaboration of women, all regular moms, who are united by a passion for God and His Word. We are all, indeed, remarkable in that we are His creation, but that being said, you’d be hard pressed to pick any of us out of a crowd. God brought together three ordinary women to fulfill His purpose: to bring Him glory. And how much more glorified is He when He uses unremarkable people to do remarkable things for Him and His kingdom.

Just a sample of their tees....

Verse on the back says: I have swept away your sins like the morning mists. I have scattered your offenses like the clouds. Oh, return to Me, for I have paid the price to set you free.

Tracy Byrd - The Keeper Of The Stars

Our Song!! :)

14 years ago today, I married the man of my dreams....my best friend!! And I would do it all over again, no hesitation!!

Oh, my, we were so young and may I say "dumb"? It makes me laugh to think how we thought we had it all together back then! :) Nevertheless, it was a day of memories that I will cherish forever!
We weren't allowed to have flowers in the sanctuary, so I carried a Bible instead! :) Back in those years a lot of the brides in our churches would make a lacey handkerchief out of their wedding dress material to carry under the Bible, but I didn't do that. I think it was starting to "go out of style". :P

Dan with his groomsmen. From left to right...Dan, my brother Darrin, Dan's brother Sam and Myron Miller, Dan's good friend from the year he was in OH.

Me and my bridesmaids...from left to right....Esther, Dan's sister, Me, Karen (Brubaker) Meulenberg and Darlene (Sensenig) Weaver, both good friends from school/church.
My sister Lisa and I made all our wedding bouquets with fake flowers. :) As you can tell, my wedding colors were lavender and pink. I really am not sure why since pink was never a favorite color for me. I think it had a lot to do with the colors of material I could get to match my wedding material!

Dan's family :)
L to R. Sam Sr. (Dad), Miriam, Dan, Sam, Me, Esther, and Janet (Mom)
My family...if you think it was big then, add about 26 more people and that would be my family today!! :)
My nieces and nephews at the time....2 more were about to be born!

We did not have a catered meal. We (Mom and I and my sisters) made most of the food ourselves and then had these cooks take care of getting it all prepared that day.

These girls job was to keep everyone's water filled. :)
Jeanette Kolb, Amelia Martin, Jenn Kolb and Stella Martin

The gift receivers~ Krista Martin, Carita Zook, Rhoda Witmer and Carol Lehman

These were our waiter and waitresses. We had rows of long tables set up and one couple took care of one row of tables.

These were Dan's students. Yes, he taught 7th and 8th grade at Lebanon Valley Christian School when we got married. That is what brought him up from GA to my area....and how we met! :)
So while he sometimes wonders why he ever was a school teacher, I am thankful he was!! :)

Our only living Grandparents at the time of our wedding. My Dad's parents are on my left, Paul & Eleanor Horst. They both passed away about 5-6 years ago. Dan's Grandma, Miriam Gehman had just lost her husband about 2 weeks before our wedding. She passed away a few years ago, too.

The morning of our wedding, we were going to have pictures taken outside, but Hurricane Bertha was gracing the east coast with her rain and wind, so a week after we got back from our honeymoon, we took pictures at Lantern Lodge in Myerstown, PA. However, since our Bridal party ranged from OH, to GA, we were not able to get the whole bridal party back together.

Probably one thing I regret the most, was not having a professional photographer do our wedding! We had one lined up, but then he found out his niece was getting married the same day and of course family took priority. I'm not sure why we didn't try someone else, but that's history! :)
I am still thankful for the memories that were captured that day! :)
